1. The Fun They Had | Beehive | NCERT | Class 9

The blog presents the section of Thinking about Language, from chapter 1 of Beehive, NCERT Class 9. In this section we practise Adverbs, what they are and their appropriate use in SENTENCES. The answers are given for the students to learn and understand.

I. use the adverbs to fill in the blanks in the sentences below.

awfully, sorrowfully, completely, loftily, carefully, differently, quickly, nonchalantly

(i) The report must be read …………. so that performance can be improved.

(ii) At the interview, Sameer answered our questions …………., shrugging his shoulders.

V. Complete the following conditional sentences. Use the correct form of the verb.

(a) If I don’t go to Anu’s party tonight, she will get disappointed.

(b) If you don’t telephone the hotel to order food, you are sure to miss your meal.

(c) Unless you promise to write back, I won’t write.

(d) If she doesn’t play any games, she won’t be active.

(e) Unless that little bird flies away quickly, the cat won’t stop following it.
